4 Star Silver Guest House by Bassenthwaite Lake

A very warm welcome from Pete and Katie the new owners of Link House. You will find a friendly and relaxed atmosphere at Link House and please ask if you need anything or require advice, we will always try to help!

We have just moved into Link House in July 2017, after running The Coppice House in Callander for 5 years. Our aim is to provide a home away from home for your holiday or business stay.

There is free wi-fi in the public areas and bedrooms.

Guests can relax and plan their walks or visits to local attractions in the cosy lounge with views of Sale Fell and Wythop Wood.

We have a selection of OS maps, walking books, guide books and other tourist information to help you plan your day but if you need any advice or ideas of what to do or where to go then we will be happy to suggest walks, drives or places to visit to suit your individual needs.

Being Cumbria it does rain occasionally and if you do get wet we have a boot and clothes drying room available.

We also have a free private off road car park available for all 7 rooms.

Other facilities include:

  • Lockable cycle storage

  • Garden with open views and garden furniture.

  • Packed Lunches

  • Iron and board available

  • Early/late check in can be arranged

The House is completely non-smoking. We are sorry but we do not accept pets in the rooms other than guide/hearing dogs.

How To Find Us

Link House is a late Victorian Country Guest House, situatedclose to Bassenthwaite Lake with stunning views of both forests and fells.Traditionally built in the late Victorian age, this country house enjoysstunning views of the forest and surrounding fells including the 3046 feetSkiddaw. The sunny aspect gives a warm and comfortable atmosphere in which torelax and feel at home.

We are situated just off the A66 at the northern tip ofBassenthwaite Lake; approx. 8 miles from the popular tourist town of Keswickand 5 miles from the old market town of Cockermouth, birthplace of WilliamWordsworth and the oldest town in Cumbria.

Link House is in the quieter part of the Lake District NationalPark, yet with access to many interesting places to visit such as theWhinlatter Visitor Centre and Dodd Wood where the Ospreys, who nest nearby eachyear, can be viewed. It makes an ideal base for walkers, cyclists, sailors (500metres to Bassenthwaite Sailing Club), wedding guests (just 1.5 - 2 miles fromArmathwaite Hall and the Castle Inn), or anyone attending courses at HighamHall.

For breakfast, where possible, we use locally sourcedingredients and cater for varying dietary requirements.

We look forward to welcoming you. If you have any queries orrequire any assistance please phone 017687 76291 or email [email protected]
